Chronology of cameras Impossible Project
In 2008, Polaroid went out of business.
But fans of instant film disagreed. They start with saving film production by buying back one of the factories in the Netherlands, already thinking about the future, and in 2016 launched their first camera, the I-1.
As a modernized version of the classic Polaroid, the I-1 has some class with its matte coating and new look.
It is equipped with a USB-rechargeable Li-ion battery and a Bluetooth connection, enabling access to a smartphone app for advanced functions ( double exposure, remote triggering (by clapping hands), light painting).
The app also lets you post photos directly to social networks. In short, the "pola" enters the modern world !
Several differences with classic Polaroid models: the new I-type film, with no battery and therefore less bulk, a folding external viewfinder, autofocus and LED ring flash.
Also compatible with 600 Polaroid films.
In 2017, everything was bought out by a Polish billionaire, and the new "Polaroid Originals" brand took over.
